Monument record TR 15 NW 1795 - Prehistoric Occupation (77-79 Castle Street)
Summary
The site consisted of two open area excavations, in an area inclose proximity to the known location of the Roman theatre as well as on an area of Medieval street frontage. The earliest features were the hollows of probable pre-Roman dwellings, filled with a mass of associated pottery, bronze slag and some coins, one of which was of Cunoblin.
