Full Description
Quote from archaeological survey: "Stables and cartshed. Probably late 18th century - early 19th century with some 20th century alterations and additons. Three walls of English garden bond red brick and front wall of weatherboarded timber framing on brick footings (some underbuilt in 20th century brick); gable-ended corrugated iron roof. Stable block on south side of farmyard facing north. Brick side and rear walls are blind. It contains 2 stables and a cartshed/ Open-fronted cartshed at east end and narrower than the stables. Each stable has door to left and window to right. Left stable doorway contains no door and right stable has 20th century door. Left stable window has replacement fixed-pane window and right stable has (probably orginal) fixed pane window under timber grille. Framing of slender scantling with straight tension braces. 4-bay roof also of slender scantling; tie beam trusses with collars clasping the purlins. 20th century corrugated iron-clad shed built in front of left stable."
