Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Pigstys. Probably 1840 but with various repairs and alterations since. Timber-framed with corrugated iron roof. Low range of a 4 open-fronted stys facing northwest onto a small yard, mostly enclosed by quadrant wall of farmyard entrance. Built lean-to against northwest end wall of stables. Construction of crude plain carpentry of uncertain date. Partitions made of half logs and branches nailed to uprights. Pigstys are shown here on the 1872 OS map and parts, at least, of the structure may be that old." (1)
