Full Description
Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Shelter shed, possibly a wagon lodge. Mid 19th century, much altered in the 20th century. All that remains of the original is the back wall, built of red and yellow brick to a rough Flemish bond (including a band of 20th century concrete blocks). The front is 20th centruy concrete block; 20th century roof clad in corrugated iron. The shed projects at right angles from west end of the south side of the barn forming the west side of the rickyard, between the barn and front boundary wall. There is a passage at the north end between the main shed an the barn. If, as seems likely, the yard was a rickyard, it seems most likely that a shed here was used for sheltering wagons rather than cattle. In the mid 20th century the lodge was converted to a poultry house, re-roofed and refronted but possibly same dimensions as the original, a hypothesis supported by the survival of the passage at the north end which is shown on the 1908 OS map. No photograph."
