Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Stable. Mid 19th century, built between the 1844 tithe map and the 1870 OS map; some 20th century alterations. Weatherboarded timber framing on painted brick footings. Corrugated asbestocs roof is gable-ended but was probably half-hipped both ends originally. Relatively tall stable on rough northeast-southwest axis backing onto the lane facing southeast into the former yard. Rear contains a boarded window in the centre. Front has a single doorway towards the southwest end. It conatins probably original 2-flap door and overlight grille with vertical shutter. Northeast end now contains 20th century garage double doors. Only limited internal inspection available. 6-bay roof defined by collard common rafters with clasped purlins. Wall framing hidden by boarding. Timber deeding through to rear." (1)
