Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Barn. Probably late 17th century/ ealry 18th century. Timber-framed and weatherboarded on brick footings (taller at rear); recently re-thatched roof, hipped at ends, swept down as catslide over framed outshut at north end; 20th century lean-to at southend with corrugated iron roof. 3-bay barn, roofed on a north-south axis and backing onto the road, facing east into the yard. The front elvation has 2-leaf midstrey doors with strap hinges and a 3-light window to the right. The rear elevation has 2 windows, high under the eaves; the outhsut is clad with vertical weatherboading. Limited access to the interior as barn was completely full of straw but staggered purlins noted. The farmer recollects the outshut being used as a calving house." (1)
