Full Description
Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Riding horse stables. Probably late 18th century, rebuilt 'as before' after severe storm damage in 1987. Flemish bond red brick; pegtile roof. The stable forms the western side of the southern courtyard and is built on a rough north-south axis. It is built close by the south end of the coach house but faces east into the yard. The existing building is apparently a complete rebuild of the orginal with a new flat-roofed tack room added on the north end. If, as it is claimed, it is a faithful replica of the orginal stable then there was a trap house at the south end 9with double doors0 and 5 stables. The roof is gable-ended. Interior not inspected."
