Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Cowhouse. Built between 1841-74. Timber framed on brick footings; the front weatherboarding infilled with a conglomerate; peg tile roof(some missing), gabled at ends. Long rectangular single-storey building adjoining the east barn at right angles to the south and fronting west onto the remains of a stockyard. 3 doorways and 4 windows on the front, doorway from barn on left return and 2 rear doorways. Inside there are 5 tie beam trusses with straight braces from posts to tie; queen struts; collar with clasped purlins and a ridgeboard. The main timbers are halved and nailed. Interior is plastered. 20th century cast iron and concrete partitions; concrete troughs." (1)
