Monument record TR 15 NW 1949 - Anglo-Saxon Hut 6 Simon Langton Yard

Summary

Only the eastern part of Hut 6 was excavated and it was badly disturbed by a modern drain and by a medieval pit. It was sunk c.20-25 cm into Roman Building debris. Postholes of the eastern wall were found and there was evidence of rebuilding. The floor consisted of Roman wall debris, cobbles and loam, above which was the occupation material covered, as elsewhere, by burnt destruction debris.
