Monument record TR 15 NW 1956 - Anglo-Saxon Sunken Structure
Summary
The street was sealed by Anglo-Saxon 'dark-earth' deposits into which were cut early Medieval pits and a possible sunken featured building of Anglo-Saxon date. A late Medieval Bakehouse was found above these layers, it was associated with clay floors and oven bases of several phases. A 19th century terraced house overlay the entire sequence.
