Monument record TR 15 NW 1961 - Anglo-Saxon Occupation Evidence, Marlowe II, 12-16 Marlowe Arcade

Summary

In 1948 and 1955, a number of excavation trenches were dug by The Canterbury Excavation Committee on the south eastern frontage of St Margaret's Street. Above the SW half of Room 4, in the area between two cellars, a greater depth of stratification survived, and here Saxon levels were found immediately above the Roman.
