Monument record TR 15 NW 1962 - Anglo-Saxon Occupation Evidence, MIII Excavation, Marlowe Arcade

Summary

In 1979 The Canterbury Archaeological Trust excavated upon the site of the current 18-20 Marlowe Arcade. In April 1957, 4 trenches were excavated by the Canterbury Excavation Committee on the site of the current 10 Rose Lane. A single Anglo-Saxon pit was also uncovered it had been largely destroyed by a late medieval pit, but it yielded several sherds of Late Saxon pottery and a bun shaped loom weight
