Monument record TR 15 NE 1468 - Anglo-Saxon industrial activity, Linacre Gardens, Kings School

Summary

During most of the Saxon period the area seems to have been unused, except perhaps for agricultural purposes. Very little Saxon pottery was found. In the late Saxon period a street of flint and cobbles was found running SE to NW and roughly parallel with the city wall. A timber building and a well-built stone furnace were also associated with it.
