Full Description
Reference from Archaeological Report: "Oashouse, mid 19th century, partly demolished and rest converted to cottage in mid 20th. Cottage section is stone rubble with brick dressings, ruined walls of red brick, hopkins of English bond brick with some burnt headers. The oast is a short distance west of the main farmyard and the former sotwage is on a rough east-west axis. It was double depth with 2 circular hopilns on the west end. The northern section of the stowage has been demolished but some of its walls still remain enclosing a yard. The southern section was greatly altered during its conversion to a cottage. There are however a couple of blocked doorways through the masonry of the axial dividing wall. The kilns are now roofless. More of the plan could be recovered during a more detailed and time-consuming visit than was possible at the time of this survey." (1)
