Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Oasthouse. Stowage probably early 19th century, perhaps a conversion of a farmbuilding as the kiln is not on the 1843 tithe map. Kiln, c. 1850, is round on plan and built of flint laced with vertical bands of keyed brickwork; toothed brick courses under the eaves; conical pegtile roof with timber cowl. The stowage is timber-framed with a corrugated iron roof. The oasthouse is sited on the southeast side of the farmyard, towards the entrance, the stowage end on to the yard with most of the building in a field southeast of the yard." (1)
