Full Description
Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Stable with hayloft over. First half of 19th century. Converted to a house in 1990. Flemish bond red brick with decorative burnt headers; pegtile roof. Stable facing north west into the farmyard. Nearly square in plan. The front openings appear to be largely adpations of the originals (although the 1990 work has been thorough and employed reused brick). Large central floor window was the original front door and is flanked by small windows - all with segemental arches over. Central first floor window was probably a loading doorway, South east 2-window front, most, if not all, are 20th century insertions. Blocked original rear window. Tall roof is hipped both ends but tiny length of ridge makes it appear pyramidal. Interior has been gutted of all early carpentry and joinery except, perhaps, the roof." (1)
