Full Description
Reference from Archaeological Survey: "Barn at Little chenway farm. Date uncertain since only glimpses of interior available. Probably late 17th century or 18th. Weatherboarded timber framing on rendered footings; peg-tile roof. East west axis, 4 bays long, facing south onto a brick walled yard. It no longer has wagon entrances but present doorways are opposing, east of centre, probably in the blocking of wagon entrances. Front plank door with blocked window alongside. Rear has tall midstrey porch with hipped roof but now contains small doorway. The rear western 2 bays have an outshot. Main roof is gable ended to east and half-hipped to west. Interior not accessible but posts with formed jowls, normal assembly, straight braces, queen struts to collars and clasped purlins were glimpsed." (1)
