Full Description

Reference from Archaeological Survey : "Cowshed. Late 18th century-early 19th. Weatherboarded timber framing on Flemish bond red brick footings (partly replaced with concrete blocks0; peg-tile roof. Cowshed built on east west axis between earlier barns. Open to south on brick-walled yard. 5-bay open front, posts with short straight arch braces standing on stone pads. Framing of slender studs with straight braces. Doorway through west end of rear wall contains early (if not original) plank-and-ledge door. Roof hipped to east, common rafter with collars clasping the purlins. Rear manger rebuilt with 20th concrete block with timber feeding rack." (1)
