Full Description
During the excavation of a service trench in 1975-7 several observations were made. In 1975 along the north eastern side of St George's Street several walls and metalling of Roman date were recorded. In some sections Medieval road metalling was observed. Also seen were sections of tesserae, a decorated mosaic panel, and a Roman floor foundation. Graves of St Andrews churchyard were also seen and recorded as well as the possible back wall of the church (located almost centrally in The Parade).
