Full Description
Reference from archaeological survey: " Oasthouse, used as office and storage, replacing an earlier one on the site between 1840 and 1874. Flemish bond brick with blue headers; pegtile roofs half-hipped at ends. Sited northwest of the barn. Butterfly plan, facing south. Round-on-plan kiln, complete with cowl, in the angle between stowage to the southwest and cartshed and stable block to the southeast. 20storey and loft, stowage built into the slope of the ground and only single-storey and loft to rear. Single-storey lean-to across most of the south front. 2 doors into front of leanto with fixed window alongside, doorway and window left return. Stowage has 3 2nd floor segmental-headed windows, glazed with sliding sashes. Doorway on front into kiln. Under pegtiled pentice. To rear the 4-bay stowage is till partly open-fronted on the ground floor with square posts on chamfered stone pads…" (1)
