Full Description
Reference from archaeological survey: "Barn. Probably 15th century or early 16th century in origin very altered in the 20th century. Does not appear on the 1839 tithe map, either missed out or moved. Timber-framed and weatherboarded , on brick footings; peg-tile roof, gabled at ends. Barn roofed on a southwest - northeast axis, enclosed by 20th century buildings. 7-bay barn with midstrey in the centre, original midstrey entrances replaced with new weatherboardeding and small doorways. Inside the 2 left end and most of the 3 right end bays are lofted. Present truss arrangement consists of a tie-beam design with queen posts and collar; ridgeboard, the upper timbers 19th or 20th century…"(1)
