Full Description
Reference from archaeological survey: "Coach house. Mid 19th century with alterations dated 1876. East end is galleted ragstone rubble, the eastern section of the north wall is a weatherboarded timber frame but most is Flemish bond red brick with evidence of several building phases; gable-ended asbestos slate roof. Long 2 storey building more east-west than northwest-southeast axis. Interpretation of this building from only the exterior features is very different, particularly since a great deal has been rebuilt or extensively altered in the late 20th century, particularly towards the west end. The dominant feature is east of centre; large fielded panel sides below an open Gothic arcade and ogival lead roof to a cast iron weathervane - it is dated 1876 with initials WC…" (1)
