Reference from archaeological survey: "On a WE axis, adjoining the carriagehouse at the west end. Erected between 1872 and 1908. Stone rubble rear wall, front now mostly clad with corrugated iron, some weatherboarding; peg-tile roof, gabled at ends, replaced with concrete tiles to the rear of the ridge. Plain posts with bolster support the wallplate at front…" (1)

The Kent Farmstead Survey was compiled between 1990 and 1993 and includes material from most areas around the county. Each file contains a description of the property, including historical notes, photographs and maps. A 7-bay stockshed or hopper's huts built 1872-1908. It has a stone rubble rear wall, the front is now mostly clad with corrugated iron, with some weatherboarding; it has a peg-tile roof, is gabled at the ends, and has been replaced with concrete tiles to rear of the ridge. It was used as a sheep pen at the time of survey in the 1990s. (1)

The farm had an oast house to the north of the yard, which is now converted into residential use. It was not unknown for hoppers to be accommodated in livestock buildings during hop-picking.Information taken from the English Heritage Archives (File reference: BF096214). (2)
