Full Description
The Kent Farmstead Survey was compiled between 1990 and 1993 and includes material from most areas around the county. Each file contains a description of the property, including historical notes, photographs and maps.
A probable wagon lodge built in the 1860s. It is now in separate ownership to the farm and used as a garage to the converted oast house. It is timber-framed, hipped at the west end, and gabled at east. (1)
Although a building is shown on the 1841 Tithe map in this position, it is thought that the extant building is a later construction. Information also taken from the English Heritage Archives (File reference: BF096214). (2)
Historic England archive material: BF096214 OLD SOAR FARMHOUSE, PLAXTOL
