Monument record TR 15 NW 2063 - Roman Burials, SW end of Kirby's Lane
Summary
In 1868 the City Corporation Engineer, James Pilbrow, recorded three inhumation burials at the SW end of Kirby's Lane. It is thought that the inhumations were Roman in date. A watching brief was undertaken in June 1983. Remains of two skeletons were discovered and were presumed to be from the Roman inhumation cemetery known in the area.
