Monument record TR 15 NW 2076 - Roman Road and Timber Building, 7 Palace Street

Summary

The cutting of the original cellar had removed most of the post-Roman and some of the late Roman levels. The earlier Roman levels consisted of the verge of a major north-east to south-west aligned Roman street and the remains of at least one Roman timber building. This building, dated mid to late 2nd century, produced evidence for possible metalworking activity.
