Monument record TR 15 NE 1513 - Roman Occupation, Cathedral South Close, New Education Centre
Summary
The clearance of the cellar exposed the natural brickearth. This was overlain by Roman topsoil and features including a possible quarry, ditches, hearth and possible building traces, as well as clay floors. The levelling deposits overlying these were cut by features which may have been Saxon, including a possible sunken featured building.
