Monument record TR 15 NW 2133 - Roman Metalling, Beer Cart Lane

Summary

During work to Canterbury's main drainage system in 1868 the city engineer, James Pilbrow, observed a Roman wall beneath the east end of Hospital Lane. The wall was made of flints and mortar and courses of Roman tiles.
