Monument record TR 15 NW 2135 - Roman Hypocausted Building, 68 Castle Street

Summary

During work to the main drainage system the city engineer, James Pilbrow, observed the east side of a hypocausted building. The remains consisted of a foundation of Roman tile forming square flues with circular holes on one side, blackened with fire.
