Monument record TR 15 NW 2146 - Roman Occupation Evidence, 1, 3-4 Marlowe Arcade

Summary

Evidence of a building of Roman date was seen with a brown occupation earth, post hole, loam floor and the remains of an oven. A cobble floor was revealed, covered with a thick occupation layer which contained Samian sherds. This was overlain by a collapsed clay wall containing a pot dated to c. 60-75 AD, probably the time when the building went out of use.
