Monument record TR 15 NW 2148 - Roman Metalling, 27 Whitehall Road (garden)

Summary

The earliest feature, only partially located in the excavated area and at a depth of 0.65m below the present ground surface, was a well-metalled, single phase Roman lane/track. This had a shallow side gutter, aligned NNW to SSE. A few sherds of late first and second century pottery were recovered from the road gutter and the lane metalling.
