Monument record TR 15 NW 2156 - Roman Enclosure, Poor Priests Hospital

Summary

A major Roman street was uncovered at the east end of the chapel in the area of 14th century Sacristy. The road consisted of a 1.25m thick deposit of layered gravel with at least 8 metallings. The road was aligned roughly NE/SW is though to flank the NW side of a collonaded enclosure seen in previous excavations
