Full Description
In 1922/23 8 houses were built in Thong Lane under the World War One ‘Homes for Heroes’ scheme. Each home had a barn and 10 acres of land. To qualify for one of the properties you had to have been wounded or gassed during the war which helped people who would otherwise have found it difficult to get a job.
