Monument record TR 15 NW 2261 - Medieval tower, Tower 5, North Side of Ridingate
Summary
In 1954 the north side of the gate was explored; outside it the battered apron of a medieval semicircular tower, Tower 5, was found. This was constructed of large ashlar blocks and was similar to other towers on this side of the city. The tower is believed to have been built c. 1390.
