Summary

During the 100 Years War with France serious fears of invasion saw the rebuilding and repair of the city's defensive walls. These works were undertaken largely between c. 1391-1411 and mostly completed by 1402. The wall and towers in the vicinity of the Bus Station were completely rebuilt after the Second World War.
