Summary
Medieval Tower 9, a round/semicircular shaped tower in plan with an open back, is situated to the north of the former Northgate. It was built by Prior Selling in 1472 at a time during the Hundred Years War with France when there was yet another threat of invasion of Sandwich and perhaps that of Canterbury too.
