Summary

Criene Mill is a medieval or earlier watermill situated across the river Stour on Binnewith Island, on the site of the later Greyfriars monastery by St. Peter's Grove. The mill is mentioned in early documents for example: it is recorded as crienemelle in a papal bull of Pope Alexander III dated 1179.
