Summary

Landscape of villas set in parkland designed by Decimus Burton in 1828 and completed in 1839. The design comprised a unified scheme of villa and terrace housing, with a terrace of 17 houses, 19 separate villas and four lodges, communal gardens which were laid out during the early 1830s replaced with a new layout during the late 1860s. In 1920 the western part of the site, known as Calverley Grounds was acquired by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and developed as a public park.
