Monument record TQ 57 SW 55 - Roman findspot and burial
Summary
A small, probably late 1st century BC-1st century AD, pot of dark brown ware, was presented to Dartford Museum by Mr. P. Mortimer of the Engineers Drawing Office, Bridge House, Dartford. It was found in 1959 by council workmen, on Temple Hill, during the removal of soil from a small pit by a mechanical grab: the pot had accompanied a burial which was scattered and lost. The pit was later filled in and nothing further was found.
