Monument record TQ 67 SE 102 - Enclosed settlement - cropmark

Summary

The incomplete cropmark of this possible Roman enclosed settlement can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1975. It measures 25m wide and at least 48m long although no northern side could be seen. The cropmarks of pits within and without this enclosure were also identified. What may be the cropmark of a boundary ditch runs along this enclosure and cuts across its south-eastern side. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project
