Full Description
Cropmark of polygonal enclosed settlement with entrance only sited from good quality air photographs to TQ 6776 7175. Interpreted as Iron Age. (1)
The cropmarks of this possible Iron Age enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1977. This is situated to the north of Harts Hill at TQ 6776 7175. Cropmarks of ditches on the north-east and south east sides suggest that the ditches that define this enclosure may have been re-cut on a slightly different alignment. this enclosure had been re-cut. Further ditches to the south and south-west may mark boundaries. These cropmarks were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(2)
