Summary

Full Description

Cropmark of a circular/subcircular settlement without internal features or entrance, sited to TQ 6759 7155 from good quality air photographs. Interpreted as Bronze Age. (1)

The cropmarks of this curvilinear enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1977. This is situated to the north of Harts Hill at TQ 6759 7155. The cropmark of the ditch is around 0.5m wide and defined an interior approximately 19m in diameter. There is a north facing entrance circa 2.6m wide. The south-western corner of this enclosure is overlain by a smaller enclosure (see NMR 765237). This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(2)
