A medieval moated farm site, perhaps 13th century or earlier of the type fairly familiar in this part of the Weald, is situated on Crockham Grange Farm. The farmer, Mr. Knight, plans to clear and level the site by the Spring, 1968. (1) TQ 44745013. A well preserved rectangular-shaped moat, with a maximum width of 6m. and depth of 2m. at the NW angle and with slight remains of an outer bank. See 1:2500 survey. (2) No change (site remains untouched). (3) TQ 447501. The moated site at Crockham Grange farm was recorded in 1974. The site is a fairly well defined rectangle with its long axis north-south. The moat is clearly defined on all four sides. No trace of internal structures was recorded. (4) Crockham Grange is listed as a medieval moated site in the County checklist for Kent - December 1979.
