Full Description

Roman interments (1),at the top of the chalk quarry, between the Dartford Cement Company's Works and the road leading from the eastern end of Dartford High Street to Joyce Green. The skeletons lay N. and S., head to the N., in graves, side by side, 2 ft. 6 in. from the surface. The only associated find was a 2nd brass of Claudius (2). TQ 5468 7454 & TQ 5471 7462 (TQ 57 SW 1015) (Symbols shown for R.B. interments.] [Do not agree with Authority 1 siting, being both alongside Temple Hill, some 300.0 m. south.] (2). Roman coin not in Dartford Museum. No further information about these sites could be obtained (3). Additional reference from a relevant field report (4).
