Findspot record TR 15 NE 1728 - Prehistoric Tools (Gaskin's Pit, Elliot Close, Reed Ave.)

Summary

Gaskin's Pit, also known as Vauxhall Brick Works, on the south side of Canterbury-Sturry road and east of the barracks, has yielded palaeolithic implements including acheulian ovates and Mousterian points. The pit ceased to be work before WWII and was filled in and the land developed.
