Full Description
At the rear of 17, St Radigund's street in 1774 Gostling observed 'hollow pipes carried along in the thickness of an old stone wall'. These probably relate to the St Radigunds Baths located in this area.
The bath house had been closed in 1829 to make way for the Dolphin PH and its Bat and Trap lawn.
A further account states that two 'Cold Bath Cottages' were erected on the site and that in the cellar could be seen 'a portion of the old Roman bath'. It is not clear why it was thought that the remains were Roman.
