Full Description
A walkover survey took place at Shorncliffe Garrison in 2014. A large hollow area in a slope of hill was observed, resulting from quarrying at some stage in the past. There is no evidence for quarrying marked on the OS map so it must be assumed that it predates the 1870s. Further up the hill there are two other potential quarry sties, although extremely dense vegetation prevented this from being ascertained. (1)
