Full Description
A historic building assessment took place in Windsor Road in 2014 in light of the proposed re-development of a Second World War building. The structure is a long, narrow structure of yellow brick, laid in english bond standing partly bellow ground level under a flat concrete roof in the garden of Bay View. The building is aligned north-east to south-west. There is evidence of the buildings' presence in 1944 aerial photographs taken due to a new runway at Manston Airport, the structure may therefore be associated with the new runway. However it may have been used as an ammunition store by the military or just a shelter. (1)
It is also possible that the building could have been constructed as a Cold War bunker although it currently functions as a privately owned garage. (2)
