Full Description
Site of Plantation and Shepherds Cottage (395 Cobham, Kent Tithe award schedule).
The cottage does not appear on the 1797 historic map but is present on the 1840 historic map.
Historic England record 1000182 lists the site (Cobham Hall) is entered through gates at the north-western corner, from the late C20 link road bridging the A2. The drive, which formerly entered from Halfpence Lane at Shepherds Gate Lodge (now gone) before the link road construction, follows a gentle curve south-eastwards, on a line established in 1818 by Reptons (Laurie 1984), to arrive at the forecourt on the north front of the house. A C20 lodge stands halfway along it’s rout.
