Full Description
An archaeological watching brief by Kent Archaeological Projects ahead of proposed extension to the nursery on Temple Hill took place on Thursday 22nd january at Temple Hill. It exposed 2 parts of what was thought to be the same ring ditch. This was interpreted as probably enclosing a burial mound or less likely a roundhouse or small settlement given its hilltop position.
Pottery of late prehistoric date was found in association with the ring ditch but there was not sufficient evidence to give a more precise date.
